Fulfilled its role perfectly
Used to make backups and then keep the disc in a sleeve, it is perfect for this purpose. Transfers are fast enough for this purpose and it seems robust enough to be handled frequently, including the connectivity.

1/ VERY fast delivery, well packed in a huge box that can hold 50 HDDs (this is usual at LDLC)
2/ Installation and start-up without any problem with the supplied cord, very (too?) short.
3/ Then comes the disillusionment. The "SP Widget software with 7 major protection and backup functions" supposedly provided by LDLC is nowhere to be found, and the manual mocks us by only explaining how to connect the device (as if we were idiots) and how to send it back if it doesn't work. Nothing on the usefulness of the button that decorates the front... No better on the internet.
I have the painful impression of having been tricked.
This external hard drive lives up to its promise. I've dropped it many, many times (I'm pretty clumsy) and it's completely unscathed. I am very happy with this purchase and highly recommend it!
Small, very fast, very easy to use, no additional power supply needed, only 1 USB connection. Very functional, suits me perfectly.
The cable supplied is perhaps a little short but in the end it is sufficient. The foam that covers it is a bit of a dust collector and gets dirty easily. But this is negligible. This is the price of a shock mount.
I recommend it, it's the sixth Silicon Power I've bought, and I've never had a problem, I carry them everywhere without much trouble.
After a little over two years it has just broken down.
The disk turns on when plugged in but the LED does not light up anymore and it refuses any service.
It was connected to my router, so without having suffered the slightest shock, by failing, it crashed the router and at the same time my entire network!
As it is a little over 2 years old, it is no longer guaranteed!
But while searching on the web, I found an article where someone complained about having to shake his disk to make it work again. After shaking it, it works again! If this is of any use to another user?
The hard drive connector (on the drive itself) is a format that does not match my other hard drives, it is much more fragile. The worry is that the plug is getting more and more loose and the connection is getting less and less easy, and this in only 6 months!
I don't know if there is a warranty system but for a foolproof thing, it's way too fragile. It's a pity because the rest seems very correct!
