For office use, it's a PC that does its job extremely well, nothing to complain about. What's more, it's not heavy!
For Internet browsing and a bit of office automation. Cheap PC that works very well.
Would recommend it.
For basic Internet and light office use, it's perfect. Coupled with a lightweight OS such as Linux or ChromeOS Flex, it runs perfectly even if it's still capable of running Win11.
The chassis is pretty good quality for the price.
In short, if you know why you're buying it and what you're going to do with it, it's great!
Very interesting product for the price. The small processor coupled with the SSD keeps the computer running smoothly. Installed under Linux, everything runs smoothly for office and multimedia use. LDLC is a trustworthy company as always, very fast shipping, I recommend.
Product received on time and everything as expected.
Bought for my 11 year old as his first computer.
Fast and responsive, that's all I asked for.
Very happy with my choice
I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the PC, especially considering the price.
I bought the cheapest version, without OS. All I had to do was install Windows 11 using a bootable key, and the drivers installed themselves with Windows Update (the keyboard, mouse and wifi card were already recognised as soon as Windows 11 was installed).
*DOM-TOM delivery with Colissimo
Nothing to say, as usual, on time and in perfect condition.
*Screen
The 15-inch screen delivers a crisp, comfortable image that doesn't strain the eyes.
*Battery
Battery life of at least 4-5 hours. That's enough for me.
*Keyboard & trackpad
The size of the keys makes it easy to write without stepping on your fingers :)
A thumbs-up too for the numeric keypad on the right-hand side.
Classic trackpad that does its job very well
*Power - fluidity - multimedia
The SSD and 8GB of RAM do their job: the computer boots up in a matter of seconds, and applications open almost instantly.
Slowing occurs when you open several applications at the same time, but that's perfectly normal given the processor (less powerful than an i3). So I wouldn't recommend it for gaming. However, it's great for watching a good film in VLC Netflix or Amazon Prime Disney+ etc. The lack of a fan doesn't hinder anything, despite the heat of the islands here :)
*Camera
For those who say that the camera doesn't work: maybe like me you didn't notice that there's a physical shutter for the camera, on the top edge of the screen, close to the camera.
**CONCLUSION
Excellent value for money for office use (word excel powerpoint Firefox Chrome etc) and for watching a good film/series.
Incompatible for gaming
Received on Reunion Island fairly quickly, it turns out that this little laptop does the job well.
Zorin OS was installed without a hitch, and everything was well recognised and functional.
The look is nice and appealed to many.
There are two drawbacks though:
-the blue colour of the FN functions on the grey background of the keys isn't sufficiently nuanced, so it's hard to tell them apart
-the LEDs for power on, PavNum and the Shift key are really, really small.
But for the price, we want more!
Thanks LDLC.
Excellent laptop for Ubuntu.
To install Ubuntu, go to the BIOS (UEFI) and perform two operations:
- security" tab: disable secure boot
- boot" tab: disable SSD boot and put "other" first.
This way, after rebooting, it recognises the USB key containing the Ubuntu ISO (created with "USB creator") and installs Ubuntu 24.04 LTS without a hitch. Well done LDLC!
Thanks to LDLC support for informing me about this.
The track pad and wi-fi are well recognised from the start, no worries.
I'd therefore recommend buying this laptop if you want to use Ubuntu for office work or free software.
Best regards Jean-Louis
Well, for the price, I'd recommend it, but it's got a lot of faults, like my webcam doesn't work, but I don't care because I don't use a webcam, the connections aren't great, it's hard to get a USB cable in and get it out again, and you need to know how to install an OS, which isn't such an easy thing to do. For the price, it's well worth it, and I think the webcam problem might just be on mine.
Supplied with Mint, I installed ubuntu 24.04 on it, which works very well. My daughter uses it for word processing and watching films: no problem at all. The price is very affordable.
One small downside: no ethernet socket, so I had to buy an adapter.
