For a balanced and natural sound
An optimised version of the 7mm Extra Wide Band (XWB) transducer, renowned for its revolutionary sound performance in a surprisingly compact size, is at the heart of the IE 300.
A new material alloy in the diaphragm improves its rest/response time for increased accuracy at all frequencies. When resonances are minimised, increased speed brings clarity at higher frequencies, a subtly warmer midrange, and a crisper bass response with low harmonic distortion. Transient responses are shortened without severe frequency crushing, allowing voices to retain their silky character from the recording stage to your ears. The XWB transducers reproduce an entirely unique sound, which is not surprising given that they are designed and manufactured with rigorous precision in our world-class facilities in Germany. Despite its small size, the output sound is out of this world, creating greater intimacy with your favourite tracks.

The additional loading volume is a fundamental part of the IE 300's balanced acoustic performance; a miniature chamber-within-a-chamber, it helps manage the airflow behind the driver.
The direction and total volume of the air is precisely controlled as it flows through and out of the transducer system, producing a precise bass and a proper experience. Sennheiser has also observed a natural increase in the resonant frequency in the ear canal when closed with an earmold. The reduced air volume creates a masking effect that hides essential details in the source signal. A frequency-absorbing resonance chamber has been added to reveal these nuances again. This combination of technologies works in perfect symbiosis, making the IE 300 the benchmark for quality sound.
