One billion colours. 500 nits of luminance. Everything is bound to be more spectacular on a Retina display. Photos and graphics pop off the screen, and text is razor-sharp. And for the first time, the 27-inch iMac features True Tone technology and can be adorned with nano-textured glass to give you a more natural viewing experience and reduce glare to a minimum.
First introduced on the Pro Display XDR, the nano textured glass now available on the 27-inch iMac is a complete game changer if you're working in a space with sunlight, direct light or changing lighting. Unlike conventional matte coatings, the nano textured finish is etched into the glass at the nano scale, resulting in a more uniform appearance. This reduces glare while preserving contrast to deliver breathtaking image quality.
Nano textured glass disperses incoming light to reduce glare, while reducing the blurred or flickering sensation that can be caused by conventional matte coatings.
No iMac is complete without powerful processors. As a top-of-the-line option, an Intel Core i7 hex-core processor gives the 21.5-inch iMac the power to work with Photoshop, video editing or music composition. The 27-inch model can be upgraded to a 10-core Intel Core i9 processor for complex tasks such as layering dozens of audio tracks or compiling and testing code.
More memory. For shocking processing power. The 21.5-inch iMac can be configured with 32 GB of memory. That's already a lot. But the 27-inch iMac quadruples that with 128 GB of memory - twice the capacity of the previous generation - to handle the demands of the new generation.to handle the most complex workflows up to twice as fast¹.
The graphics cards in the iMac are a constant source of amazement. The 21.5-inch model features AMD Radeon Pro 500X series graphics cards and can be configured with an AMD Radeon Pro Vega 20 graphics processor for demanding tasks such as 3D rendering or creating complex video effects. The 27-inch model offers AMD Radeon Pro 5000 series graphics cards with up to 16GB of GDDR6 memory and up to six times the speed of the 8GB option² : an ideal configuration for working with ultra-high definition video or developing stunningly realistic games.
High-capacity, lightning-fast 100% flash SSD storage is now standard on all iMac models. And the 27-inch iMac can now be configured with an impressive 8TB³ SSD, with sequential read/write speeds of up to 3.4GB/s4. Enough to access your photo and video libraries, large files and pro apps in a flash.
Crystal-clear video calls and voice recordings, room-filling music and movies: iMac is the ultimate in communication and entertainment. The 27-inch model now features a 1080p HD FaceTime camera and a set of three studio-quality microphones. And the T2 chip works with the speakers to activate a modulating equalizer and enhance the bass. So all your content gets powerful, perfectly balanced high-fidelity sound.

With it, HEVC video transcoding becomes up to twice as fast as with the previous generation5.
Every iMac comes with two ultra-fast Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) ports and four USB-A ports. This means more high-performance connections for external drives, cameras, displays and more. All iMac models feature a 1Gbit Ethernet port, and you can now configure the 27-inch iMac with 10Gigabit Ethernet for up to 10 times the speed of the previous generation.
