I built a machine with this processor and an ASRock B550M-HDV card following the advice of LDLC. With 8GB of memory and a 240GB 2.5" SSD, the machine runs perfectly under Linux (Fedora 32 or Linux mint 20).
I am really satisfied and recommend this choice for office, multimedia and gaming. I use games on Steam and with a good graphics card it's very smooth with full graphics options.
I've been using it for a while now and it's a good choice for the entry level (500-600 euros), coupled with a Rx 570 Rog Strix 8gb with a very good gaming performance. I recommend it with my eyes closed. I'm satisfied with my purchase?
The performance is as good as I expected.
Coupled with a RX 570 Armor 8GB OC, and 16GB RAM, my games (UT 3 and Heroes M&M 7) in 1920*1080 are very smooth with maximum graphics.
No problem playing full HD movies either.
The fan is well sized and quiet.
Very reasonable budget for the performance.
For a small machine in office use, media and a little gaming in 1080p coupled with a good CG for this effect nothing to say.
The temperature remains correct especially with the supplied ventirad.
The frequencies and power consumption are well balanced.
Smooth, quiet enough and good support for 3200Mhz RAM by enabling XMP.
For small budgets looking for great efficiency you are there ;)
