Very nice book and very good ergonomics: waterproof, size neither too small nor too big, clarity of the screen, suitable for right- and left-handed people, reading in portrait or landscape mode (practical for the reader who chooses the display mode according to his body position)...
Unfortunately, there is a big problem with reading .epub files from lending libraries: problems recognising the DRM of the Adobe Digital Edition software, which is a necessary step. When it blocks, workarounds - resetting the e-reader and/or Adobe Digital Edition or other various manipulations - sometimes work, but are not reproducible!
Extensive research on the forums shows that these problems are recurrent with all Kobo e-readers and have been for many years! Surprisingly, none of the e-reader reviews on the internet address the issue of DRM, even though it is a basic feature of all e-readers.
Conclusion: I regretfully returned to LDLC and bought another e-reader.
I've been using it for a while now and it's a great product, nice to read, light, good backlighting with quite a few settings.
The disappointment comes from the fact that it is not possible to load my books previously bought from other e-book sellers: this e-reader works in closed circuit in the Kobo world.
This feature is not highlighted enough I think.
I had no experience of using a tablet. And I am very pleased with it. I will just note that I find the light a bit yellowish and for a person who now has to wear glasses it becomes annoying when reading. Otherwise, I have no criticism to make.
Am I the best judge of this product? I don't know but...
Since I got it, I have started reading again and in a totally natural, spontaneous way. You quickly become addicted to this product as it is so easy to carry, even when camping!
It's a great autonomy, a real comfort of reading, whether it's in a hammock facing the wind or in bed, the comfort of reading is always there.
I bought it for its waterproofness, not that I want to swim with it, but simply to be able to read by the sea or the pool without fear of it breaking down.
I even use it at work to store documents that I want to have constantly at hand (legal extracts or others...).
To conclude: I unconditionally recommend it.
I've been using the brand for a while now and I bought it with my eyes closed because kobo is really good, and this e-reader is no exception. I was a bit hesitant about the almost square format and the wide edge, but you get used to it very quickly, and I thought the screen rotation was a gimmick, in fact it's great in bed. I'm going to take off 2 points because sometimes it's random, the sleep mode can take 3 to 4 seconds, but it's rare, and I'm sure the update will fix that.
I'm not sure if it's a good idea to get a new one, but I'm sure it's a good idea to get a new one.
