    High resolution but poor design

I bought this VR headset when it was 600€ so it's good value for money especially for the screen.
I've heard a lot about the tracking system of the headset and controllers being bad but unless you put the controllers close to the headset, they are well tracked for my taste (this is my first VR experience).

On the other hand I had to modify the helmet in particular to remove the cushions (too thick) around the screen because this one is much too far from the eyes and not adjustable in depth.
After removing these cushions you have a totally different experience with a much better viewing angle.
It's also a pity that the screen doesn't go down far enough on the nose, so you have to put the headband over your head to compensate.

In summary, don't buy it at 800€ it's way too expensive, even for the screen and this one is from 2020 so expect a new release from HTC.
However if you don't mind having to mod this headset and find it cheaper, it is still a good product.

    works under conditions

    7/10 why.....
helmet of renowned brand not big problem of functioning under rather strict condition for my part.
    the minuses :
-I'm not sure if it's a good idea to have a helmet that's a good fit, but I'm not sure if it's a good fit for me.
I'm not sure if it's a good idea to use the headset in the same way as the other headset.
-It does not like plain white walls.
SOLUTION for my part curtain with pattern on the walls
-I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to do this, but I'm not sure I'm going to be able to do this.
    the pluses :
-I'm not sure if it's a good idea to have a helmet on the wall or not, but it's a good idea.
    - 2600mhA rechargeable batteries last all day
-I've been using the headphones for a while now and I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to use them for a long time or not.

A product for hermits who live in the open air

This product cannot be used under the following lighting conditions:
    - All artificial light sources
    - Natural light on cloudy days + artificial light

And even in natural light in good weather, the tracking of the controllers is rather disappointing. In that sense, it's a real downgrade from the classic HTC Vive.

So you need a lot of sunlight (and not to be afraid of wiggling in front of your neighbours if you're facing each other), to be able to use the Vive Cosmos! On the other hand, the screens are always damaged by direct contact with the sun, which this helmet is so fond of... An accident is therefore quite likely after a sufficiently long period of use...

You also need a room with "a lot of distinctive visual elements", which somewhat contradicts the need to have a clear space for VR.

The controllers are no longer USB rechargeable, but battery powered! And the ones supplied are not rechargeable, forcing you to buy one or two sets of rechargeable batteries + a case. Moreover, the removable plastic element covering the batteries does not fit exactly into the controller, leaving a gap that is not too noticeable to the touch but that risks letting hand perspiration through, certainly decreasing the life of the controllers...

This helmet does have some positive points (good head support and weight distribution, good screen resolution, pivot to lift the helmet without removing it from the head...), but as it stands it's a minimal grade, because if it's not usable in the morning/evening/night/away from the neighbours, there's really not much left!

    After testing

I am quite happy with my purchase, it is rather comfortable and light, I would like to point out that it is not 6 but 12 months of subscription to Vive Infinity
