I wanted to have a small sound output (in any form) for my single PC monitor.
The aim: whether I'm gaming or video conferencing, I get clearer, more powerful sound than the original monitor output, which was nasally and crackling at 60% of the sound gauge.
I'm pleasantly surprised by the Trust Arys, which I've just got and had time to test on Uncharted 3 and video conferencing.
I was expecting to have a sound a bit more powerful than the screen output, but still sizzling at high volume (e.g. over 70%).
Well, the sizzling only happens very late (not having a precise gauge, I would say above 90% volume), and the sound is more powerful and clear than I expected.
As a result, I don't go beyond 2/3 of the gauge, set via the rotary knob.
In short, the fact that the bar is powered by the screen itself in USB (and therefore turns on and off with the screen, without needing to touch the button), that the output is made in 3.5mm jack, and that the sound is of good quality fulfills my expectations perfectly.
