Bien. satisfait. ±±±++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
I tried to use this mouse on a shiny coloured carpet, it didn't work properly, I tried on my wooden desk the same thing, I tried on a carpet, then it didn't work, so it doesn't work on a mat coloured carpet.
Good mouse. Very responsive. Good design. Good grip and the mouse image follows without problems.
Very pleasant in the hand and glides very well.
The only drawback is that you have to remember to turn it off after each use, otherwise you'll be wasting batteries!
The mouse is good and pleasant to use. The pointing is efficient on usually difficult surfaces.
However, it's not that small, it's more of a compromise between a desktop mouse and a small portable mouse.
Also the mechanism for removing the USB dongle is not very practical. The dongle itself is not as small as the description claims, it protrudes from the USB port by about 8mm and doesn't seem to be particularly well thought out to minimise its external part.
I ordered this product to replace a Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 3500, which I was quite happy with but which was starting to show signs of mechanical fatigue. I naively thought that this "4000" would be as good or better, as it is the "top" model in the range, sold at a slightly higher price.
Disappointing: the shape is less pleasant, the top plastics are too smooth and *especially* the non-serrated thumbwheel is not very comfortable to use and too hard to click. Finally, I'll buy a 3500 on occasion...
The - : Noisy clicks, middle click very hard and also noisy.
The + : Ergonomic and responsive, the fact of having an indicator light on the active status of the mouse is a plus. Storage for the bluetooth key with spring.
I was so pleased with this mouse that I ended up buying another one for a laptop.
I still like the back button on the left side. I feel like it's even better than the first one, the scroll wheel is well balanced and very comfortable to use.
Thank you LDLC for the fast delivery.
Why didn't Microsoft go into hardware exclusively? They are good, very good even if I compare them to some poorly balanced Logitech mice (and yet God knows I was a Logitech fan back in the day).
It's my 4th or 5th Microsoft mouse, it's very simple and I only use it with laptops; it's really solid, light, practical, precise, very precise, it fits in a pocket, it's ambidextrous and really cheap.
It's not only cheap, but in my experience my Microsoft mice are indestructible. I voluntarily waited more than a year before posting this review and I can confirm that it works as well as it did on the first day! (well, I recognize that on the other hand, a year is not long for a mouse)
