How to create my
Gaming Setup

Improving your in-game performance isn't just a matter of training. A combination of components and peripherals optimised for gaming will help you to improve precision, speed and comfort: a PC with a solid motherboard/processor pairing, a screen with a high refresh rate, a responsive keyboard/mouse pairing and a chair that looks after your back and forearms.

Which components for my PC built?

Processor

The processor

The key component of a gaming build, it should contain at least 6 cores for demanding games (Cyberpunk, Starfield...) 8 cores or more for streaming, VR and 4K gaming. Its frequency, architecture and the fineness of its engraving are all factors to be taken into account.

Motherboard

The motherboard

First of all, check that it is compatible with the brand and generation of processor you have chosen, by looking at the chipset and socket. Its size should also correspond to the format of the case you are considering (Mini and micro ATX for small cases, ATX for standard cases and E-ATX for larger cases).

Graphics card

The graphics card

There are manufacturers (AMD, NVIDIA, INTEL) who each deploy their own technologies, and their assemblers (ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte etc) who customise them (power, cooling etc). Choose one according to your use: 2K, 4K or virtual reality.

Mémoire vive

The memory

16 GB (1x16 GB or 2x8 GB) is the minimum required for smooth gaming, but its frequency should also be taken into account if you want to overclock. As for the rest, check your motherboard for DDR4 or DDR5 compatible slots.

SSD - HDD

The storage

When it comes to performance, SSDs are better suited to gaming than HDDs. Less latency, improved graphics and a real gain in speed will be valuable assets when you're gaming. The recommended capacity ranges from 500 GB to 2 TB, but you can go well beyond that.

Ventilateur de processeur

The cooling

The most widely used is the air system, which is affordable and easy to install. The most efficient is the liquid system known as watercooling. The liquid circulates silently between a cooling block and a radiator and absorbs the heat as it passes. It's better, but more expensive.
